Doing good in the world

carbon-higher-res_flat.jpg

We are passionate about making a difference in the world of work. We want to build a business that practises what we preach so we’re challenging the typical business norms. We want to create a culture where people truly are whistling on their way to work. We are working hard to build a beautiful business. But this is not enough. We also want to make sure we are doing our part to do good for the planet. We are joining the list of companies aiming to be carbon neutral by 2030.

I started to make changes at home over the past couple of years. We buy less single use plastic, replacing it for more environmentally friendly options (look at Humble.com if you want dental floss that isn’t plastic!), we eat less meat, we’ve replaced our toilet roll with more ethical choices (whogivesacrap) and cut out toxic chemicals from our home and garden (biggreensmile). But we then run a business that has workshops that require materials. And we love those analogue tools. So, we are starting to make changes here too by using reusable badges, specifying FSC paper (as in our yearbook) and plastic pens to pencils. We’re not there yet, so 2020 is the year for us to look at every angle to try to be as friendly to our planet as we are to our employees and businesses we work to make a difference in.
